Dependence on non-European, mostly US-based hyperscalers, software providers and platforms is increasingly coming into focus. The triggers are not only geopolitical or economic uncertainties. Pragmatically speaking, it is simply a matter of data protection concerns, secure supply chains, transparent contract and licensing models, and rising prices. More and more companies are looking into European options, hybrid operating models, or whole Exit strategies. Not as a way to be anti-something or to make a radical change, but to get some new room to maneuver with growing IT costs, stricter rules and more complex security requirements.
This doesn’t mean the whole IT landscape has to be rebuilt. We pursue an approach that brings out the best of all worlds. In our cost-effective DTS Open Source Workshop, we show you how European, open and more cost-effective options can already be used today – compatible with existing IT and tailored to actual working methods. MEANINGFUL ALTERNATIVES
“All or nothing” is not a productive approach in IT. Instead of completely changing existing IT landscapes, we work with you to identify specific Areas where European open source solutions offer real added value. These solutions are not only compatible and can be integrated step by step, they also increasingly incorporate innovative technologies or concepts. Non-European solutions often include too many functions, as well as opaque data storage, security issues and spiraling costs. Instead, IT solutions should use exactly the IT services necessary for the business purpose – affordably and securely.
TRANSPARENCY, SECURITY, DATA SOVEREIGNTY & COST EFFICIENCY
Our goal is not a 1:1 replacement. Rather, we move away from the software currently in use and consider the actual requirements of your company. This often reveals that existing solutions are unnecessarily complex and thus create costs, security and dependency risks. In these cases, lean, more cost-effective and often European alternatives have long been available – with open standards and proven data storage in Europe. We consistently focus on concrete starting points rather than theory. Together with you, we look at which applications are actually needed, where dependencies exist, where alternatives could be directly integrated into sub-areas, where compatibility with existing environments exists in order to keep entry barriers low, but also where clear potential for cost savings is apparent. Of course, aspects such as operation, technical feasibility, or possible reservations also play a decisive role.
PROCESS
In the first step, you will receive a questionnaire so that we can quickly gather all the relevant details. We will then discuss this with you to understand your working methods and gain a thorough understanding of how you organize your IT. Finally, we will present the results of our analysis to you, clearly showing where alternatives exist, as well as opportunities for financial optimization. Only by following this approach are we able to present you with useful alternative software or completely different approaches with the help of European open source services. Of course, we can also introduce you to individual services in a demo environment.
